It didn’t take much convincing for Marcus to come to Atlanta. After Story left my office that night, I immediately got on the phone with him. I hadn’t mentioned anything to Toy yet, and I told him when we talked, not to say anything. I needed to break the news to the both of them at the same time. Story had been in her room, still avoiding Toy, and I’d heard about it every single night. We were two days from Christmas, and because I knew how much this was going to affect my wife, I called the wives up so they could be here to rally around her. Everyone would make it into town tomorrow, right when Marcus was leaving, so hopefully, my plan worked out the way I envisioned. I will say it had been hard as hell keeping this shit from Toy, especially since we didn’t keep secrets from each other. That was just the type of marriage we had.

Marcus had arrived and was sitting downstairs in my office, waiting on the rest of us. I was sitting at the foot of the bed, waiting for Toy to come out of the bathroom. I sent the two little ones off to Angel and Kacen’s ’cause once Hurricane Nitoya got going, it was going to be a lot of yelling, and I didn’t need to subject them to that. The situation was already stressful enough on Story. I didn’t want the other two getting upset.

“Why you sitting there looking like that?” Toy asked. I was so deep off in my head that I never heard her come from the bathroom.

“No reason. You busy? I need to see you in my office.”

“No… I was about to run out and grab some last-minute things. Is everything okay?”

“We can do that together later on. And yeah, everything good.” Standing from the bed, I grabbed her by the hand and walked her out of the room. The entire way to my office, she repeatedly asked if everything was okay. It wasn’t until the moment that I pushed the door opened and she saw Marcus sitting there that she realized that things were serious.

“Marcus… Antron… is my baby okay?” she asked, looking around the room before focusing her attention back on me.

“Have a seat, Toy.”

“Antron, is my baby okay?”

“Boo, listen to me. Have a seat so I can talk to you and Marcus. Everything is okay.” Tears welled up in her eyes as she scanned my face. She nodded her head and took a seat next to Marcus. I sat on the corner of my desk and took a deep breath.

“Marcus, I’m not sure if you noticed or not, but Story hasn’t really been herself. Toy and I asked on multiple occasions if things were okay, and she assured us that they were. Well, on last week, Story came to me, and we talked about what had been troubling her. Together we decided to wait until the both of you were in the same room so she could share it with you.
